We're happy to report that our tasting this weekend at the Westin was a big success - we are confident that we selected a great venue for the wedding.
The Westin offers group tastings which means that a few families gather at once to try out the food, wines, and service. We're not sure what we will be serving yet on our big night, but we tried many delicious dishes including; Sesame Seared Tuna, Lobster Shooters, Pear & Brie in Phyllo, Wild Mushroom Beggars Purse, and many many tasty desserts. We were all pleased with the quality and presentation of the food, and many of the dishes even had some good Louisiana spice! We are looking forward to creating a menu for our wedding that hopefully everyone will enjoy.
Also, if you knew us during the days when I worked at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, you might remember/know that Austin NEVER wins any raffle prizes. He is convinced that I/my colleagues at PMA purposely wouldn't pick him. Anyway, good news: Austin won a free night stay at the Westin as a door prize, so we'll get a chance to check out the rooms for y'all.
